Probably because the new rule allowing 10 films to be nominated in the first place. Even with 10, I still don't think it should make it in. Weak year. They really blew it not adding Crazy heart, Star Trek and The Messenger for An Education, Up and A Serious Man. Seriously ?

I thought Mulligan was good. I don't think that's an Oscar nominated performance though.
I think Alfred Molina was the one who gave life into all the scenes he was in. Usually performaces that are riveting, or really move you or you feel like you just can't get out of your chair for some reason, are the kind that are Oscar nominated. I didn't feel that from Mulligan. I felt Abbie Cornish in Bright Star, Amy Adams in Sunshine Cleaning, Saorise Ronan in The Lovely Bones, Michelle Monaghan in Trucker and Emily Blunt in The Young Victoria brought it much more convincing that Mulligan. Still she is a untapped talent yet and young, and I look forward to seeing her build up her filmography in the Wall Street sequel that will be coming soon as well.movie luvanoreply@blogger.com
